January 16, 2006, is the deadline to nominate a public school advocate for the 2006 Friend of Education Award. The Award is sponsored by the Confidence in Public Education Task Force, of which KNEA is a member.

The award honors Friends of Education in the following categories:

• School Volunteer
• Community Leader
• Partner Activity
• Private or Public Institution
• Community/Civic Organization
