Training dates for Professional Development Councils

The Kansas NEA and the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center (Greenbush) support the need for quality professional development and offer two levels of training for PDC members in Kansas. We have trained more than 1625 PDC members, primarily as teams, through workshops over the past four years.

The Professional Development Regulations in effect July 1, 2003 require that all Professional Development Council (PDC) members operate from a knowledge base of the regulations. Level I Training is designed for the new PDC member to gain a knowledge and understanding of quality professional learning based on the Staff Development standards.

Level 1 training dates and sites are:

• Sept. 28 -- ESC, Greenbush
• Nov. 14 -- KNEA, Topeka

Both trainings are from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The advanced training focuses on moving your PDC to a deeper level of understanding of how quality staff development and professional learning impact student learning and the PDC’s place in that work.

Advanced Training Dates and Sites are:

• Sept. 26 -- KNEA, Topeka
• Sept. 27 -- ESC, Greenbush
• Oct.4 -- Wolf River, Robinson
• Oct.5 -- KNEA, Topeka
• Oct. 11 -- ESC, Greenbush
• Oct.12 -- Wolf River, Robinson
• Oct. 25 -- Maize Training Facility, USD 266, Maize
• Nov. 15 -- KNEA, Topeka
• Nov. 16 -- ESC, Greenbush
• Jan. 23 -- ESC, Greenbush
• Jan. 25 -- KNEA, Topeka

All trainings are from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
