Ask Congress to fix the “Teacher Penalty”

Currently, teachers who retire from Kansas and go to work in Missouri, Colorado, or 13 other non-social security states run the risk of LOSING their social security benefits if they become vested in the new state’s retirement system. 

Spouses can lose their benefits too! 

This has devastated many retired members financially.  Please download a copy of our petition that will be delivered to our congressional delegation to ask congress to fix this problem known as GPO-WEP (Government Pension Offset-Windfall Elimination Provision.)

Send them to KNEA by SEPTEMBER 19.
