KNEA Bargaining Academy

Multiple opportunities are available for those interested in professional negotiations.  The KNEA Bargaining Academy is for advanced negotiators. The KNEA Bargaining Academy is now receiving applications from KNEA members,  for a limited number of positions in the 2008 Academy class, which will be held June 3 - August 31, 2008.

The deadline for applications is Thursday, May 1, 2008.

Participants will be required to commit a minimum of 60 hours to Academy training and activities between June 3 and August 31, 2008. Successful applicants will meet in Topeka on June 3-4, 2008, for activities and to set the schedule for the remainder of the program. Graduates will be expected to contribute to the bargaining effort in their own local and within KNEA. For details, contact your UniServ Director.

New Presidents Summer Leadership Training

Register today! New local association presidents and leaders are encouraged to attend one of these engaging day-long sessions (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) which will be held June 12 in Lindsborg, June 17 in Topeka and July 24 in Emporia.

The session helps new leaders network with colleagues from across the state and gain vital knowledge directly related to responsibilities as association leaders.  Useful topics include how to run an effective meeting, developing your leadership skills, what NEA and KNEA resources will help you and how to make the best use of KNEA and NEA member benefits.  For details, contact Kevin Riemann.
